Cancer's Cause?
The world is full of information directed at cancer patients to make us feel good and tell them contacting cancer was due to some happenstance out of their control. Even those of us subscribing to natural or alternative approaches have reams of information available as to why we contacted cancer through absolutely no fault of our own.
We can blame the dentist who put mercury amalgams in our teeth before we knew how carcinogen mercury was. We can blame the bakers using genetically modified corn before we knew that genetically modified foods can change the genes in our bodies. We can blame the food manufacturer who uses High Fructose Corn Syrup and say we didn’t realize cancer needs glucose (sugar) to grow and hfcs is metabolized into serum glucose at several times the rate of common sugar.
Yes, everyone is more than happy to tell cancer patients it was not your fault and you bear no responsibility for your situation. Unfortunately this is exactly the wrong thing to tell a cancer patient if you want them to survive.
There is no great mystery as to cancer’s cause. Cancer’s cause stares one in the face every time you brush your teeth or put on your lipstick. Cancer’s cause looks you in the eye every time you look into the mirror.

But when you ask any cancer patient they will usually have some excuse as to why they were diagnosed with cancer. “Lung cancer was in the genes”, “my mother died from breast cancer”. “We lived in an area that had increased numbers of thyroid cancer.” “Pancreatic cancer is just so much more prevalent than it used to be.” “They think my lymphoma was caused by a virus”. Again and again cancer patients, often with the help of their doctors, have an excuse for why they have no blame or roll in their having contacted cancer.
Hey people, wake up! Lung cancer is not the fault of your genes, breast cancer is not the fault of your parents, thyroid cancer is not attacking everyone and viruses are not the reason you have lymphoma. If you are 100% honest with yourself there is one primary person to blame for your having cancer.
Walk back up to the mirror and take a good look. Yes, that is you looking back from inside that mirror and you are the very person to blame for your cancer. For by accepting blame for cancer you can simultaneously assume responsibility for curing cancer and making it go away.
You are the person that eats poisons in your food day in and day out. You are not forced to buy the corporate produced refuse filled with pesticide residue, genetically modified garbage, chemicals to make “it” never spoil, sugar that cause “it” to be habit forming, artificial colors to catch your attention and dozens of other substances whose name you cannot say, let alone spell.
You are capable of Googling all those food additives multinational corporations add to your daily diet but until today you have not taken the time. Perhaps now that you have accepted responsibility it makes sense to do it. Why, because it is your life on the line. You see, by taking the responsibility for getting cancer you are now able to take responsibility for curing it.
Let me give you an example. Steve, a 10 year survivor of Follicular non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma is under the treatment of several doctors. Somewhere along the way one of these doctors decides Steve’s immune system would be boosted by giving him Vitamin B-12 shots.
Several weeks pass and Steve notices he is having pains in his groin, fNHL nodules that have been stable for years seem to be growing and Steve doesn’t know why. Fortunately, Steve accepted responsibility for his health care years ago and gets busy. He orders a Hair Elements Test (used to evaluate hair samples for toxic elements, nutritional element levels and measure nutrient minerals).
Steve had done the Hair Elements Test previously, prior to making the decision to have his mercury amalgams removed. He believes a significant reason for his 10 years of survival following cancer diagnosis was his use of detoxification regimens and diet to remove mercury, aluminum and other cancer causing carcinogens from his body.
Following amalgam removal, changing his cookware, finding new personal toiletries, and modifying his diet Steve hair tested again and was free of high toxic element levels.
Now, with this new challenge Steve hair tested again. Surprise, the test comes back with extremely high levels of aluminum. Ok, where did that come from? Steve goes to work on Google and the Internet. Within 20 minutes he has discovered the culprit. You may already have guessed it from my setup, the intravenous Vitamin B-12 had “aluminum” used as an adjuvant.
Steve made the doctors aware of his findings, they changed the Vitamin B-12 being used and a few months later Steve was back at “watch and wait” in what most would call clinical remission from his fNHL cancer.
This is a true story that happened in the last few years. If Steve had not already accepted responsibility for his cancer and its treatment but instead blindly followed along the road of good intentions he would possibly have been dead today.
You are the one that chooses to avoid moderate exercise at any cost. You park at the closest door, ride the elevator every opportunity, drive the car to visit the neighbor two blocks away, and generally avoid physical exertion at any cost.
You are aware of the health benefits of regular physical activity. You know that one hour a day of moderate exercise has helped countless long term cancer survivors. But it is easier to blame something else for your cancer than to get on a daily exercise routine and stick to it year in and year out.
What about lowering stress? Again, you are the one that controls the amount of stress you are under. You control the job you chose, the decision to argue with your spouse and to worry about your kids.
Yes, again you have total control as to whether you will be completely stressed out 24/7 or are you going to take control of the factors leading to the stress. You know exercise can be used to reduce stress. You know meditation can be used to control stress and you know rest can be used to alleviate stress.
As a breast cancer patient your doctor has told you the stress hormone epinephrine makes breast cancer cells resistant to cell death. But, again it is far easier to blame the genes, the environment, the bacteria and a whole host of other factors than it is to blame yourself.
What about the environment both inside and outside your body? Certainly that is not your fault, right? Look into the mirror again. You are not forced to accept any of the environmental factors affecting cancer. No one forced your to eat aspartame, you did not get extra credit for consuming glyphosate (Roundup) contaminated food, no one held you down and forced you to dine on mercury laden fish and you did not have to remain in the same building with the smoker last night.
You could have chosen a job away from the exhaust laden air of Los Angeles, you did not need to paint the room with lead contaminated sludge from China and you heard the phony butter on the movie popcorn could be carcinogen. Yet, given all your knowledge about the epigenetic impact on our bodies you readily choose to accept all your disease’s cancer causing environmental factors
So, the next time you are asked “where did your cancer from”? Fess up and tell the truth. Tell them you looked in the mirror and discovered the main person to blame for your having cancer.
The wonderful thing is, by finally admitting you are the person most answerable for allowing cancer to develop you have taken the first step to becoming the person responsible for curing your cancer.
Once you make the decision to take responsibility the challenge of curing cancer becomes a manageable task to be approached with common sense and perseverance like any other goal.

The Zune concentrates on being a Portable Media Player. Not a web browser. Not a game machine. Maybe in the future it’ll do even better in those areas, but for now it’s a fantastic way to organize and listen to your music and videos, and is without peer in that regard. The iPod’s strengths are its web browsing and apps. If those sound more compelling, perhaps it is your best choice.
