Mercury Detoxification Symptoms

Mercury Poisoning

Congratulations, if you are at this post. For most, that remove and replace mercury amalgam fillings, the expensive part of the journey is behind you. Wasn’t that bad really, was it? Now it is time to perform the last stage, removal of accumulated mercury from all the body’s organs. Mercury has been accumulating there for years so understand it will take considerable time to safely remove it.

For me this part of the journey was the most difficult by far. For many others it has been routine with few major side effects. Here is hoping you are one of the fortunate ones to have this long term detoxification go easy or routine. Having said that you can expect some discomfort from the side effects doing long term mercury detoxification

My choice for this final step was Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA). If you are working with a physician he may prefer to use prescription chelating agents or a combination of prescription chelating agents and ALA.

The reasons I used Alpha Lipoic Acid is ALA crosses the brain barrier and all other membranes in the body, ALA is readily available without prescription, ALA is relatively inexpensive and you can get dose reduction easily for spreading out or leveling chelation. This taking more frequent but smaller doses of chelation agent is a Cutler tip that pays huge dividends this final detoxification step.

If you fail to both reduce chelation doses and increase dose frequency you risk setting up a perpetual motion effect. This means the pulsation of doses moves mercury out of the organ(s) into the blood as chelator level increases in the blood and then as chelating agent level drops in the blood mercury moves back into the organ(s). As you can guess this is a nasty little problem and when it occurs you are not making headway towards the goal of safe mercury removal.

I personally addressed this pulsing effect by locating liquid ALA. By having ALA in liquid form it was a simple calculation to take the desired dose of Alpha Lipoic Acid for 24 hours and divide it into 8 equal doses. The liquid ALA is mixed with drinking water, placed in a 16 oz. drinking glass (I used a squeezable drink bottle) and then I drank two oz. of the mixture every 3 hours. This required arising or awakening twice during the night but it became routine after a couple of weeks.

I also used ultra-low doses of cilantro extract and the rate of three drops per dose (every three hours). I mixed the cilantro extract (24 drops) into the previously described 16 oz. or ALA/ water mixture.

Cutler’s texts discourage the use of cilantro because of inadequate trials and testing. I would not consider using cilantro except in the ultra-low dose I have described.

Most of you will be able to do this schedule seven days a week for the required many months to safely remove the majority of mercury from your body. If, like me, you find the side effects are difficult and too trying reduce the number of days you are using chelation each week. I finally settled on a 4 days on 3 days off rotated the following week to 3 days on 4 days off schedule.

I followed the rotating schedule above for six months after which I bumped it up to 7 days a week of chelation for an additional two months. As you may have guessed, ALA chelation becomes easier as the mercury levels drop and the side effects (mostly fatigue) become less and less.

In my case part of the fatigue was due to anemia. If you find yourself becoming overly fatigued don’t hesitate to give yourself some rest days where you are not chelating. The goal is to safely remove the mercury not to win a race against the clock. And, if you have chemotherapy caused anemia or similar blood test for anemia should you start feeling overly fatigued.

Doctors Data Hair Elements Test

Hair Elements Test

A side note: My anemia has improved greatly to where my last blood tests had me in the lower normal range. I attribute at least part of this phenomena to successful mercury removal.

The final step is getting that confirming Doctor’s Data Hair Elements Test confirming you have reached your goal. I recommend waiting six months or more after completion of chelation to get scientific confirmation all your hard work and expense paid off. You need to give your body time to stabilize and your hair time to be cut a few times before you harvest for testing.

Since I am susceptible to mercury poisoning I still perform a 30 day mercury chelation schedule, with ALA and ultra-low dose cilantro extract, once each year. My theory is this will clean up any residual missed and remove any new mercury that may have accumulated from fish, the environment, etc.

There are numerous individuals that previously had cancer who are now cancer free following successful chelation for mercury poisoning. Good Luck & Good Health.
